Climate and Environment Action Plan

REACT has developed a draft plan which can be adapted by parish councils to support and encourage them to make changes to mitigate the effects of climate change and to support nature recovery.

As well as identifying key objectives it provides many simple, practical actions and links to existing initiatives which Councils can adopt or encourage amongst residents. It covers a number of key areas including energy, water, waste and recycling, sustainable transport and biodiversity.

This has already encouraged and supported positive change e.g. policies to phase out the use of pesticides, the development of allotments, community orchards, wildflower areas, the setting up of Parish Council Environment groups and adoption of Sustainable Transport policy.
